The Alliance Honored by the City of Houston

The Alliance was recently honored by the City of Houston with a proclamation recognizing The Alliance’s commitment to creating opportunities for all residents. The proclamation also recognized the establishment of The Alliance’s new Advisory Council.

The Advisory Council was formally announced on March 2, 2018. It is composed of dedicated volunteer leaders from across the community, from the business and nonprofit sectors to the city’s medical and educational institutions. The Council will use their knowledge and expertise to strengthen The Alliance’s capacity to meet community needs.

The proclamation, which designated March 2nd as “The Alliance Day” in Houston, was sponsored by City Council Member Mike Laster (District J) and issued by Mayor Sylvester Turner on April 10th 2018. On hand to receive the proclamation were The Alliance’s CEO Daniel Stoecker, Wellness Center Director of Psychiatry Dr. Sophia Banu, and board member and former refugee Mustafa Faiz, along with other members of The Alliance’s staff.

The Alliance is grateful to the City of Houston for the honor and for its partnership!
